NYLIB Submits Comment Letter to FDIC Regarding Part 363 FDICIA Thresholds

On September 26, 2025, NYLIB submitted a comment letter to the FDIC in support of its proposal to raise the Part 363 FDICIA thresholds to account for historical inflation and to index those thresholds to inflation going forward. NYLIB recommended that the FDIC consider significantly higher initial thresholds than it proposed in order to return Part 363 to its original focus of helping to ensure sound financial management of the institutions posing the greatest risk to the Deposit Insurance Fund.
